i Foo Fighters si sono ladygaghizzati


Lady GaGa tira un casino e anche i Foo Fighters le sono andati dietro.
Quest'anno la band di Dave Grohl tornerà con un nuovo album in primavera e in questo video virale (sopra) hanno presentato un sito che hanno aperto per cercare un aspirante regista per il loro prossimo video.
Il sito è This Video Sucks e sì, those shoes hurt...

Nirvana reunion, più o meno...


Dave Grohl ha dichiarato in una intervista a Radio 1's Zane Lowe che sul nuovo album dei Foo Fighters, attualmente in lavorazione, suonerà il basso il suo vecchio compagno nei Nirvana, Krist Novoselic (al centro).
Inoltre, l'album sarà prodotto da Butch Vig, il chitarrista dei Garbage che vent'anni fa produsse Nevermind dei Nirvana.
Tre su quattro, manca solo Kurt Cobain per una reunion completa.

Rimanendo in tema di nuovi album rock, Butch Vig è tornato in studio anche con i Garbage per registrare un nuovo album.

intervallo/ Jimmy Page


Oggi Jimmy Page compie 66 anni. Gli abbiamo spedito un plettro.
In una intervista di questi giorni al Times ha dichiarato che la possibilità di rivedere insieme i Led Zeppelin dipende da Robert Plant e che al momento non ci sono molte speranze.

il nuovo singolo dei Foo Fighters

Dave Grohl, leader dei Foo Fighters ed ex batterista dei Nirvana, ha scritto sul sito della band, insieme all'ex bassista Krist Novoselic, due parole sull'utilizzo dell'immagine di Kurt Cobain nel videogioco Guitar Hero:
"This is a statement regarding Nirvana, Guitar Hero and the likeness of the late Kurt Cobain.

We want people to know that we are dismayed and very disappointed in the way a facsimile of Kurt is used in the Guitar Hero game. The name and likeness of Kurt Cobain are the sole property of his estate – we have no control whatsoever in that area.

While we were aware of Kurt’s image being used with two Nirvana songs, we didn’t know players have the ability to unlock the character. This feature allows the character to be used with any kind of song the player wants. We urge Activision to do the right thing in “re-locking” Kurt’s character so that this won’t continue in the future.

It’s hard to watch an image of Kurt pantomiming other artists’ music alongside cartoon characters. Kurt Cobain wrote songs that hold a lot of meaning to people all over the world. We feel he deserves better."

Sono ovviamente contrariati, ma non possono fare nulla per l'utilizzo dell'immagine di Kurt Cobain. Tuttavia vogliono convincere la Activision, azienda produttrice del videogioco, a bloccare almeno il personaggio in modo che possa essere utilizzato solo nelle due canzoni dei Nirvana e non venga usato dai giocatori per suonare canzoni di altri gruppi.
